Prototyping is essential in developing solutions for any design problem. The ability to communicate the essence of an idea before committing to a more costly implementation reinforces the power of prototyping.

I am excited to learn about various prototyping methods and how to effectively apply the appropriate tool to different kinds of UX design problems and platforms. For the next 10 weeks, I will be sharing my design ideas, process, and reflection relating to the following UX prototyping topics:

  • Week 2: Low Fidelity 2D | paper prototyping, sketching
  • Week 3: Low Fidelity 3D | analog models (cardboard, foam, etc.), video-making
  • Week 4: Medium Fidelity 2.5D | laser cutting printing
  • Week 5: Medium Fidelity 3D | 3D modeling and printing
  • Week 6: Linear Narrative 4D | video prototyping
  • Week 7: Interactive (behavioral) | "wizard of oz"
  • Week 8: Interactive (web) | web wireframes (balsamiq, axure, etc.)
  • Week 9: Interactive (mobile) | app mockups (POP, proto.io, etc.)
  • Week 10: Final Project
